Scarlett squeegees window Christmas morning 2017.
It’s Christmas day, and it’s kinda cool outside. So, we needed to clean the window. Someone should ask why Samantha’s stocking it so big compared to everyone else. Auntie Sam was the baby when Uncle Vincent and my dad were her older brothers. They used to tease Auntie Sam, I was told.

Scarlett and her Dad help set up Christmas Tree.
This is the Christmas Tree Grandpa and Uncle Vincent and Scarlett found when we drove a long time away. We figured out that Florida definitely does not grow naturally the types of trees we like. They are too skinny and week branches. These Fraser Firs have much thicker looks and feels and are best grown in North Carolina.

Scarlett went with Grandpa and Uncle Vincent to Middleburg FL (about 1 hour and 20 minutes away) to look for a live Christmas tree. This didn’t work out (although I got new sneakers) because Florida does not have the kind of trees that we are used to… BUT, we did pass by a Christmas Tree shop along the way on Route 16 and we found a tree from North Carolina.

We had to drive a long way because no one had Big trees as a result of the hurricanes, they said. The big box stores have smaller skinny ones. It was kinda cool though to think we could cut our own.

Turkey Vultures on Thanksgiving Weekend in the backyard.
The crows and the Turkey Vultures eat what we put in the backyard , but hardly ever at the same time. The turkey Vultures are bigger and always push the smaller crows out. But the crows make a lot of noise… and all different kinds.

This is a short silent video Grandpa took with Birds and long beaks in the backyard looking for food.
https://youtu.be/vIZVzlZVACA
I do not know what kind of birds these are, or why some are pretty white and others are kinda gray. They move fast and poke at the ground looking for something… maybe bugs? They do not stick around too long if they see people though. The crows and the buzzards are a little friendlier.

Scarlett and Grandpa built a few houses from ice cream sticks we bought at dollar store a while back and Scarlett wanted to build one on her own.

So, Grandpa showed me how to do the glue gun and I was able to start to build the floors and the walls myself. Of course Gammie thinks there’s something illegal about Grandpa allowing me to do this. I was careful and everything worked out OK so far.

Scarlett buried Jack the fish for Auntie Sam
Auntie Sam had a Siamese fighting fish whose name is or was Jack.
Jack was in the bottom corner of the fish tank when I came to visit… and he was not moving. Grandpa figured he should video the whole burial thing so no one would charge him with some kind of crime. Grandma said she saw Jack in the same spot earier this morning and thought he was sleeping.
We decided to do a land burial in the front of the house in the flowers so Jack could be remembered forever and help the flowers grow.
By some coincidence, or maybe the angels were sad it rained a lot all of a sudden and then stopped when we were done. Nice.
